Daspletosaurus torosus, Tyrannosaurs exhibition - National Museum of Scotland - Edinburgh

Daspletosaurus torosus, cast of skeleton, and left hip bone (ilium). Tyrannosaurs exhibition, National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh, Scotland. The top left of the hip bone is missing a sizeable chunk. It is thought that the dinosaur in question may have died after being attacked and bitten by another tyrannosaur, possibly another Daspletosaurus torosus. As such this may represent cannibalism. Excavated Montana, USA, of later Cretaceous origin (77-74 mya).

Location: Tyrannosaurs exhibition, National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.
