Rampside Light Tower overlooking Morecambe Bay

Also known locally as 'the Needle'. My first ever Light Tower; standing at Rampside on the shore of Morecambe Bay by Barrow-on-Furness. The Castle of Piel Island stands in the background, with pink flowers providing the foreground. Rampside Light Tower was built between 1850 and 1870 as one of a set of 3 pairs, but it is the only remaining original of the six lighthouses. Also known as Rampside Light, Rampside Rear Light, Walney Channel Middle Range Rear Light.

Location: Morecambe Bay, Cumbria, The North, England, United Kingdom
